The Hot Spring Colonnade building in Karlovy Vary, where the famous healing spring flows, was in such a bad condition that it was necessary to carry out a fundamental reconstruction.

Water leaking into the structure and extreme environment, created by mineral water and aggressive fumes from the underground, caused extensive corrosion of the load bearing reinforced concrete structure.

The existing monolithic concrete structure was replaced by a composite reinforced concrete structure with special DELTABEAM® Composite Beams treated with hot-dip galvanizing. These beams represent one of the technological peculiarities of reconstruction of The Hot Spring Colonnade in Karlovy Vary.

The solution, which is commonly used in the construction of buildings, will carry the floor under the most famous symbol of the royal spa town – the so-called hot spring bowl.  Among the main advantages of DELTABEAM® Composite Beams belong their easy assembly and ability to withstand extreme underground conditions, namely the aggresive and high carbon environment.
