In order to accommodate the growth, Seaport Brewing decided to work on the principle of silent production.

To this end, the brewery in Evergem built a brand new production facility where mainly tanks for beer production will be set up.

The building is constructed with columns of 26 meters: the ideal length to apply a column shoe connection.

Bert Loyson, project manager at Valcke Prefab Beton: “When constructing buildings with concrete columns this high, we automatically choose this Peikko solution. The main reason is that we do not have to install braces, because calculating, placing and breaking down braces is expensive with such long columns. Moreover, if we did not use a column shoe connection, the building site would be largely impassable due to the many large struts and strut blocks.

It is therefore a very cost-efficient solution that allows for quick assembly and also makes the site safer. The application of column shoe connections is therefore the logic itself in such projects. Peikko's many years of experience is always translated into an engineering and service that is completely tailored to the project and the user. This allows their customers to deliver satisfactorily again and again within the set deadline.”
