Richardson International invested over $30 Million to build an innovation center in downtown Winnipeg close to their head office on Portage and Main.

The project consists of a four storey - 5,800 square metre (62,000 square feet) facility with a state-of-the-art microbiology lab, quality analysis area, product development suites, laboratory, offices as well as a culinary test and demonstration kitchen.

As one of Canada’s largest agribusinesses, Richardson is committed to giving back to the community. The Innovation Center not only provides employment to locals but also adds architectural flavor to Winnipeg’s downtown area. Number TEN Architectural Group designed the building and Bockstael Construction Limited was the General Contractor. Crosier Kilgour & partners is the Structural Engineering Firm and Lafarge Holcim Precast supplied the hollow-core slabs.

Incorporating DELTABEAM®in the Richardson Center design provided much flexibility for a challenging architectural landmark structure.

DELTABEAM® provided 2 hours of integrated fire resistance and some DELTABEAM®s were as shallow as 250 mm (10’’) even if some bay sizes were more than 10m (30ft).
