The scheme delivers 163 studio and one-bedroom apartments, split across two main buildings: a 15-storey east wing comprising a mix of affordable rented and private apartments, and an 11-storey west block with an additional 4-storey extension providing private residences.
Constructed by Laing O’Rourke using their DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) approach, the structure combines precast columns, hollowcore flooring, and Peikko DELTABEAM® Composite Beams to create a slim-floor, flat-soffit solution optimised for off-site assembly.
In total, 617 DELTABEAM® units were designed, manufactured, and supplied by Peikko UK, ensuring rapid and safe installation aligned with the off-site construction philosophy. The use of Peikko Column Shoes and Anchor Bolts enabled a prop-free erection sequence, enhancing both site safety and programme efficiency.
Peikko also collaborated closely with façade specialists Bryden Wood to coordinate fixing points within the beams for the brick-clad precast panels, ensuring seamless integration between the structural and architectural systems.
The result is a high-quality, precision-engineered residential scheme that demonstrates how Peikko’s hybrid frame solutions can help deliver modern, efficient, and sustainable urban housing in some of the UK’s most technically challenging sites.
